One arrested as teen fights for life following shopping centre brawl in Adelaide

A teenager is fighting for life, and a 20-year-old is seriously injured after a brawl at a shopping centre in Adelaide's north.

One person has been arrested following a violent disturbance at the Elizabeth City Centre this afternoon that sent the shopping centre into lockdown.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fight involving four males inside the shopping centre just after 2pm yesterday.

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy.

Police arrived swiftly and immediately apprehended a suspect.

First aid was also rendered to two people who sustained stab wounds in the incident.

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg, and a 20-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.

The pair were rushed to hospital, with the 16-year-old's condition described as life-threatening.

The shopping centre was sent into lockdown following the brawl.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with two counts of causing serious harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in the youth court on Monday.

Police are working to identify and locate the other male involved in the altercation.

"I want to reassure the Elizabeth community that this was not a random incident," Superintendent Amit Sareen said.

"Police responded quickly and apprehended the suspect at the scene, and have seized the weapon that was used."

Investigations are continuing.
