Sonic the Hedgehog's latest adventure has just sped onto our screens in video game form.
The famous blue blur and his pals are racing for glory in a new game called Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
To learn more about the new game, 9News sat down with Sega of America's Takashi Iizuka, executive producer of the game and head of Sonic Team.

With the help of a Japanese translator, Iizuka-san shared how almost a decade ago he was tasked to rebuild the Sonic brand and moved to Los Angeles.
"At that time, the Sonic brand was not in a good place," Iizuka-san told 9news.com.au
"It was at the point where I needed to step in and do something. So I moved to Los Angeles and was tasked with rebuilding the whole Sonic brand with the team here at SOA (Sega of America)," he said.
"Now, we see Sonic in this really good place," he said.
"We have movies coming out. We have games coming out. It's really thanks to all the people who not only worked hard on the brand and on the games and on the content, but all the fans who are also there to support us and really cheer us on," he said.
With Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds out this week — the keyword here being the "worlds" — Iizuka-san was excited to share all the characters from across the SEGA universe and beyond appearing in the game.

Minecraft's Steve, Pac-Man, SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more to be announced are playable characters.
"It really kind of expands on the game experience, and it expands kind of the cast of characters and the fun and the joy that we can bring to players," he said.
When it comes to playing himself, Iizuka-san says he only has eyes for one character — probably due to his role in its creation.
"Shadow is the character that is my favourite. He came from a game that I created, and he was made for that game, and is a really cool character. So whenever anyone asks me, it's always. I really enjoy playing with Shadow," he said.

The game launched this week across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC — but there's plenty more content to come.
"There's a lot of content that the team is planning on providing people because they really want people to enjoy this game for a very, very long time.
"We hope they really have a fun time, enjoying Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds."
