Fire breaks out at Sydney childcare centre in suspected attack

Police are investigating after a suspicious fire broke out at a childcare centre on Sydney's North Shore this morning.

Emergency services were called to the centre on the Pacific Highway at Turramurra at about 4.25am.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which caused minor damage to the building.

Police said no injuries had been reported.

9News understands it's believed petrol was splashed throughout the centre before being set alight.
