Police hunting gunman after shots fired into Sydney home with four people inside

Police are hunting a gunman today after shots were fired into a house in western Sydney.

Two children and two adults who were inside the home escaped unharmed during the shooting at Virginia Street in Blacktown about 9pm yesterday.

Police are continuing to hunt the gunman and early today officers seized a Ford Ranger SUV at Seppelt Street, Eastern Creek, about 5km from the scene of the shooting.

Detectives are carrying out a forensic examination of the vehicle and working to establish whether the vehicle was used in the attack.

Crime scenes has been set up at both locations and inquiries are underway into the shooting.
