NSW state Liberal politician Taylor Martin has been expelled from the party following an investigation into a complaint, believed to have been from a former federal MP.
Richard Shields, the NSW Liberal party state director, announced on Friday night that the party "acted quickly and decisively" as a result of the "strictly confidential" report and did not detail the nature of the allegations against Martin.
"The NSW Liberal Party has received the independent investigation report concerning a confidential complaint against the Hon Taylor Martin MLC," the statement began.

"The report is strictly confidential.
"On the basis of the report's findings the NSW Liberal Party State Director has acted quickly and decisively, ratified by the State Executive, to expel Mr Martin as a member of the NSW Division.
"The NSW Liberal Party expects the highest standards of behaviour of its members and elected representatives and will continue to strive to ensure those standards are consistently upheld."
NSW Liberal leader Mark Speakman released a short statement soon after, saying he supported the decision.
"I support the NSW Liberal Party State Director's decision, made after a lengthy, independent investigation, to expel Mr Martin from the Liberal Party," the Leader of the Opposition said on Friday night.
"Mr Martin is therefore no longer a member of the Parliamentary Liberal Party.
"I expect, and the public are entitled to expect, the highest standards of behaviour by MPs."
Martin, who has been a member of the Upper House since 2017, is yet to publicly comment on the expulsion or report findings.
