A man has been charged over an alleged act of animal cruelty in Sydney after he allegedly tried to take an Ibis home by shoving it into a trolley bag.
A 60-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of harming or attempting to harm a protected animal and committing an act of animal cruelty at 9:30pm on Friday.
Witnesses say they saw the man tie a rope around an ibis' neck and feet in Eastwood, before trying to put the bird into a wheeled trolley bag on Tuesday this week.
