Australia's east coast is about to be hit with a multi-day rain event with forecasters warning flooding is "likely" as powerful winds and surf batter the coast.
The wet weather event is being caused by a deepening low pressure system, and could last for as long as eight-days, Weathezone said.
A 2886km stretch of the country - from Bateman's Bay in southern NSW, to Cooktown in Far North Queensland - is on alert.
The weather service says "accumulated rainfall totals of 100 to 200mm are likely in some parts of this region, with isolated falls above 300mm possible."

Three flood warnings are already in effect for the state, with Queensland also bracing for "unseasonable" rainfall.
The heavy rain will start on Friday before intensifying on Saturday, Weatherzone said.

"On Saturday, a low pressure trough will deepen near Australia's east coast, causing rain to increase over parts of eastern NSW and QLD."
"Rain should continue over eastern QLD and large areas of eastern and central NSW on Sunday.
"Heavy rain is expected to fall over the southern or central coastal districts in NSW as a low pressure system deepens in the Tasman Sea, possibly delivering more than 100mm of rain to a similar region to Saturday."
The location and strength of the Tasman low becomes "uncertain from Monday".
"The focus of heavy rain could be anywhere between the southern and northern coasts in NSW, with some showers also likely to extend west of the ranges."

The low pressure system will also generate strong winds, potentially damaging winds" along the NSW coast and ranges from the weekend.
