The crash caused the truck and trailer to flip, leaving the truck fully blocking the road.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 60s, and his passenger, a woman in her 40s, were both trapped in the vehicle.

Three helicopters attended the scene.

NSW Ambulance said the driver of the truck and the passenger in the car were both airlifted to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.

The truck passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to Nepean Hospital via ambulance.

It is believed the truck was carrying gravel and Bells Line of Road is closed in both directions while it's cleaned up.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use the Great Western Highway instead.
