All of Australia's capitals are expected to be hit with rain today as the east coast braces for a third day of storms.
Severe thunderstorms have swept across parts of south-eastern Australia this week, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Weatherzone says there is potential for supercells in north-east New South Wales and south-east Queensland today, "capable of producing destructive winds and tornadoes".

Late yesterday a freak tornado tore through the NSW Central West, destroying property and causing multiple injuries.
The tornado hit Clear Creek, northeast of Bathurst, whipping up debris and damaging homes.
A second tornado was recorded in Narrabri several hours later and although locals reported it to be fierce, no major damage was recorded.

"This tornado (on Thursday) is part of a prolonged thunderstorm outbreak in eastern Australia, which has been going since Tuesday and is likely to last until Saturday," Weatherzone said.
A slow-moving low and trough are are triggering severe storms in Queensland, NSW and in the Northern Territory, bringing rain to Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia from this morning.

Storms are also likely in Perth and Canberra.
The thunderstorms are expected to last into Saturday and the rain is likely to continue in some areas until early next week.
Weatherzone says that while just some storms are considered severe, they all contain lightning. If you hear thunder, the best thing to do is stay inside until the storm has cleared.
Those who suffer from asthma have been told to take care, as thunderstorms move across parts of the country.
"The weather predictions for the next week are ideal for thunderstorm asthma," Victoria's AMA president Dr Roderick McRae told Today yesterday morning.
"Anybody with a known diagnosis of asthma, please take your preventative medications."
